What is your favorite local restaurant?
I am not a big foodie, so I don’t have a favorite restaurant. If I absolutely have to choose, I will probably go with First Watch. They have good options for brunch, and I always enjoyed meaningful conversations with friends when we stopped by.
How did your college experience help shape who you are?
My experience in college was much more than just classes and coursework. It was four years full of opportunities to make meaningful connections, to grow, and thrive. Classes brought me knowledge and taught me discipline. Extra-curricular activities and on-campus jobs challenged me to do things I never thought I could do. College is where I learned to appreciate and value connections such as friendship, classmate, colleague, mentor, professor etc.
What advice do you have for students beginning their college search?
There is never too early for your college search. Make sure that you focus on what resources are available for your majors and you as a student. Don’t just focus on choosing the popular and expensive university as it might not be the best fit for you. It is important that you tour the campus as the campus environment and culture can make or break your experience. I highly recommend that you talk to current students and alumni for authentic campus experience and any tips to make your college years more enjoyable.
