What is your favorite local restaurant?

I love BellaGreen. It is a great restaurant that offers fresh, made-to-order dishes. There is nothing like eating healthy and enjoying every bite of it. This restaurant chain is also big on giving back to the community. It is one of my favorite places to visit when I am in town.

How did your college experience help shape who you are?

My college experience boosted my drive to be successful. I am a first-generation college graduate, so I started having no clue what I was doing, but the journey was so beautiful. I learned much about who I am while alone in a new city, which allowed me to focus on myself. I learned how to network and how to face challenges. I also learned the importance of giving yourself grace. I gained the ability to advocate for myself and others truly. I will always cherish my college experience.

What advice do you have for students beginning their college search?

Visit the schools that you are genuinely interested in. My motto is: You do not know until you have been. It is so important to step foot on campuses and look at everything important to you to ensure that you will be successful there and enjoy your time at the school and in the city. Also, ask all the questions. Don’t decide until you have all the necessary answers to feel confident in your decision-making process. Lastly, be sure your choice is yours, as you will be the only one doing the work and having the lived experience.
