What is your favorite local restaurant?
Thai Noodle Wave. I’m a big fan of noodles and rice dishes, so I am always in the mood for Thai food. Not only is it close to campus, but I can go there often without being tired of it.
How did your college experience help shape who you are?
My college experience was very long, but it allowed me to experience tremendous growth. Early on, I learned I was unprepared for college and needed to mature in every way possible. I slowly adjusted to the workload and held myself accountable for attending classes and study/tutoring sessions that would help me succeed. I learned to delay giving in to the things I wanted to do to finish what I needed to do.
What advice do you have for students beginning their college search?
First, have a general idea of what you want to do. You don’t need to have every day planned down to the minute, but just having a hint of where you would like to end up helps. Find out which institutions might be the best fit for you either logistically, economically, or socially. You cannot find out anything about a higher education institution online. If you have any questions, do not be afraid to reach out to the institution to ask them. Lastly, the most crucial advice is to check/read your emails.
