What is your favorite local restaurant?
La Casita Bakeshop, though their hours can be tricky! Jollibee is also excellent, especially when you want spicy grease.
How did your college experience help shape who you are?
My college experience was rather interesting. Overall, I was encouraged to expand my horizons and experience new opportunities throughout my three years. I entered UTA during COVID-19 as undeclared. The following year, I was able to get a taste of the college life and declare a major. Within that, I was able to build connections and feel like a true maverick. UTA wasn’t my initial plan, but it was everything I needed, and I am very proud to be an alumnus.
What advice do you have for students beginning their college search?
It’s okay to be unsure. College is about experiencing and growing completely different energy from high school, and it is important to try to keep a positive outlook on it. Be sure to ask questions when you don’t understand; it’s okay to change your major one or two times, join clubs, and try them out. Do things you want to do. College is an experience for you, not anyone else.
